It’s easy to take a trip in a canoe on the Lac de Bort! Just 2 kilometres from the campsite, discover the gorges of the Dordogne river that forms a natural border between the Puy de Dôme ( Auvergne region) and the Corrèze ( Limousin region).

A gold nugget, a sapphire, an olivine? With the help of
a miner’s pan you might find one of these treasures
hidden in the bed of the Burande river !

The leisure activities and presentations on offer to you here, will definitely occupy a good part of your time. However,if, after the mid-day barbecue you have an irresistable urge to have a nap, neither the quietly running river, nor the butterflies' dizzy wheeling round the flowering buddleia, nor even the shouts of laughter from the children in the swimming pool would disturb your dreams : (possibly the cry of a gold panner who's just discovered a huge nugget in his pan, but it's very rare !!)

campsite, or nearby on the Dordogne or the lake

Do you lust for gold ?
The Burande is one river which flows through one of the oldest gold-bearing site
in Europe. You can be initiated into searching for gold with the gold panners.
